Our Process

A look into how we designed Mark

DESIGN PROCESS

We followed an iterative and collaborative design process that employed many different types of exercises to generate our final solution.

Discovery

Generating the problem we wish to solve

Understanding the industry

STAKEHOLDER MAPPING

The auto industry is very complex; we used this exercise to understand the co-dependencies that exist. This helped us understand the overall landscape.

Define the opportunity

USER INTERVIEWS

SKETCHING SESSION

We conducted interviews with drivers and non-drivers to gain perspective on the roles of cars in people’s lives.

The team lead an ideation session with Moment to generate a wide array of directions to follow.

Building empathy

PERSONAS

Combining user and market research, we designed three different user types that varied in demographic and the way they use their car.

Design

Visualizing our ideas

Crafting a story

USER STORY

We developed a narrative to help tell the story of how drivers and passengers interact with Mark. It showcases not only Mark's strengths, but also its personality.

Envisioning a product

WIREFRAMES

VISUAL DESIGN

We sketched iteratively to define the critical user interface elements for both the mobile app and car console.

We then explored different stylistic directions to follow that would make Mark come to life.
